NAME: nitryl chloride

COMMENTS: The ClNO2 UV/VIS absorption spectrum was measured between 200 and 475 nm at 210, 233, 253, 273, and 296 K using diode array spectroscopy with ∼1 nm resolution

Absolute absorption cross sections of ClNO2 at 296 K were not determined in this work, but the measured spectrum was scaled to its well-established absolute cross section at 216 nm recommended by

S. Sander, S. P., J. Abbatt, J. R. Barker, J. B. Burkholder, R. R. Friedl, D. M. Golden, R. E. Huie, C. E. Kolb, M. J. Kurylo, G. K. Moortgat, V. L. Orkin and P. H. Wine "Chemical Kinetics and Photochemical Data for Use in Atmospheric Studies, Evaluation No. 17," JPL Publication 10-6, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, 2011. http://jpldataeval.jpl.nasa.gov.

The temperature dependence parameterization for the temperature range 210 to 296 K is

σ(λ, T) =σ(λ, 296 K) × [1+ A1(λ) × (T - 296 K) + A2(λ) × (T - 296 K)2]

with the parameters A1 and A2 listed under

ClNO2_Ghosh(2012)_210-296K_200-475nm(T dependence)

Data at 1-nm and 0.25-nm intervals are taken from the "Supporting Information" published along with the article
